  2. Prepare The Base – In a heavy bottomed pressure cooker add 1 tsp of ghee or olive oil then add 1 tsp of cumin seeds for good aroma add hing and let it crackle then sauté 1 tsp of grated ginger with 2 minced garlic cloves for few seconds until aromatic.
  3. Add Vegetables – For basic veggies you can add 1 full cup of carrot, peas and cauliflower which all beautifully sauté then for 2 –3 minutes to bring out their flavour and slight crunch.
  4. Mix Dal And Rice – Drain soak moong dal and rice water and add to pot then stir it well for everything is coated in the spices and oil don’t forget to add ½ tsp of turmeric powder, salt for taste and lastly add black pepper for extra warmth in wintertime.
  5. Add Water And Let It Cook – After adding all spices add water or vegetable broth then let it cook for 25 – 30 minutes meanwhile it will hardly take 3- 4 whistles for better cooking.
