4 slices of bread (white, brown, or multigrain)
1/2 cup finely chopped vegetables (onions, cabbage, carrots, capsicum)
1/2 cup crumbled paneer (cottage cheese)
2 tbsp chopped coriander
2 green chillies, finely chopped
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
Salt to taste
1/2 cup grated potatoes
Cooking oil for frying (use a brush for controlled oil usage)
How to Make The Recipe:
In a bowl, mix together the finely chopped vegetables, crumbled paneer, chopped coriander, and green chillies.
Add the cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, red chilli powder, and salt to the vegetable mixture. Mix well.
Add the grated potatoes to the mixture to help bind the filling together.
Using a sharp knife, trim off the crusts from each slice of bread. Next, gently flatten the bread slices with a rolling pin to ensure they are of even thickness.
Place a spoonful of the vegetable mixture onto each slice of bread and shape it into a tikki.
Heat a non-stick pan on medium heat and brush it with cooking oil.
Place the tikkis in the pan and cook until golden brown on one side.
Brush the top of each tikki with cooking oil and flip it over to cook the other side until golden brown.
Serve hot with mint chutney or ketchup.
